Luxury hotel with armored doors

On June 8, in the historic part of the city of Lviv (Listopadovy Chin Street, 8), the opening of the BANKHOTEL business hotel took place.

   This building was created by architects Edmund Zhikhovich and Michal Luzhetsky in the beginning of the twentieth century for the branch of the Austro-Hungarian Bank and in 2014 the creative architectural workshop “KUDIN” began working on a project to reconstruct the bank building for a hotel, the idea to save authenticity of buildings as a monument of architecture is a basis for planning decisions.

The size of the plot on which the hotel is located is 0.14 hectares, and the total area of the building is 8 thousand square meters. On seven floors of “BANKHOTEL” there are 101 rooms, 8 conference rooms, a restaurant “SAFE”, a wine bar “RESERVE” with an open terrace and a night art bar “SATIRIKON”, which will host exhibitions of works by famous caricaturists.

The placement in the structure of the Austro-Hungarian Bank operating room allowed the project authors to design a congress hall for 270 seats with the possibility of turning it into 8 separate conference rooms at the expense of sliding partitions. Clients of the congress hall can use the lounge and outdoor terrace.

Also, a permanent exhibition of two art projects by Kudin V.P. “Banknotes and Steps” and “Coins” will be placed on the hotel’s territory. The first project shows the notes of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, telling about the features of each bill, who its author is and where it was printed, and the second project - “Coins” - is associated with extremely beautiful commemorative coins of the National Bank of Ukraine.
