KONE named one of the most innovative companies in the world according to Forbes

KONE ranked 42 in the ranking of the 100 most innovative companies in the world according to the world-famous magazine Forbes.

Of all the European companies represented in the ranking this year, KONE ranked sixth. Also, KONE is the only elevator company ranked in 2014.

The history of KONE as an industrial pioneer is well known. In 1996, KONE was the first elevator company to introduce elevators without machine room to the market. The latest of KONE's ultra-innovative solutions is the technology of high-rise lift cables KONE UltraRope (TM), which allows you to create elevators with a lifting height of 1 km in the future, which is twice the existing capacity of the industry. In May, KONE announced the first application of KONE UltraRope technology in the Saudi Arabia's Kingdom Tower building, which will become the highest building in the world with a lifting height of more than one kilometer.

Forbes magazine rating is based on the “Innovation Award” indicator. One of the developers of this indicator is Clayton Christensen, a professor at Harvard Business School.
